Emery Reveals What Arsenal Board Told Him Following 2-2 draw With Southampton
1 min readArsenal manager, Unai Emery, has insisted he still has the board’s backing, following a 2-2 draw with Southampton on Saturday.
Danny Ings gave the visitors an early lead before Alexandre Lacazette equalized in the first half.
James Ward-Prowse finished from a close range, only for Lacazette to ‘stab’ home deep into added time.
Emery’s men were booed off by fans, who have seen their side winning just two of their last 11 Premier League games.
However, the Spaniard, speaking at his post-match conference, said the club’s hierarchy continues to support him.
“The club are supporting me every day and also I have a responsibility.
“I know I can do better, I can take more performances with the players and I’m going to try to do that. Now my job is to analyse, to try to move on with confidence with the players.
“It’s difficult but we need to move on in the next days. After analysing that match we are going to play at home again on Thursday, prepare as well as possible.
“We know, and I know, that we need to connect with our supporters,” he said.
