Dangote Group, Indian firm sign $350m deal for refinery expansion
Dangote Group has signed a $350 million contract agreement with Engineers India Limited (EIL) for the expansion of the Dangote Refinery, the Indian firm has announced.
In a statement, EIL said it will serve as both the project management consultant (PMC) and engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) consultant for the refinery expansion project.
Engineers India Limited is a state-owned Indian engineering consultancy company with experience in oil and gas, petrochemicals, refining and infrastructure projects. Under the agreement, EIL will provide end-to-end technical and project management services to support the expansion of the Dangote Refinery.
The deal marks another phase in Dangote Group’s efforts to scale up operations at the refinery, which is a key part of Nigeria’s strategy to reduce reliance on imported petroleum products and strengthen local refining capacity.
Dangote Group has not yet released additional details on the scope or timeline of the expansion, but the partnership underscores growing collaboration between African industrial groups and Indian engineering firms in large-scale energy and infrastructure projects.
The Dangote Refinery is one of the largest industrial projects in Africa and is expected to play a significant role in transforming Nigeria’s downstream oil and gas sector.
