COVID-19: Markets In States On Lockdown Should Open Between 10:00am To 2:00pm Daily – FG
1 min readThe Federal Government on Wednesday, said that all markets in states where a lockdown was implemented (Lagos, FCT and Ogun) will be allowed to open between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm daily.
This was made known by Aliyu Sani, the National Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 during a briefing by members of the taskforce in Abuja.
He said, “For markets, only shops and stalls selling food and groceries shall be allowed to open to customers between the hours of 10:00 am and 2:00 pm.”
”Supermarkets and food stores are also allowed to open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and all shop owners and managers have been strictly advised to thoroughly screen their staff and customers before they enter.
“On arrival, all staff must be screened for a high temperature and all those found to have a high body temperature above 38, will be denied entry and advised to seek immediate medical attention.
“All deliveries for supplies and products for these supermarkets must be made between the hours of 5:00 am and 9:00 am.”
However, he also stated that at no point should the number of customers inside a store exceed a third of the store’s total capacity.
Sani also advised that after their closure at 4:00 pm, shop owners should ensure that all shelves, aisles and stores are properly cleaned and disinfected and by 6:00 pm, staff are conveyed back to their respective homes.
