Court Upholds Suspension Of Sowore From AAC
1 min readThe suspension of Omoyele Sowore as the National Chairman of the African Action Congress, AAC, and Malcom Fabiyi as the Deputy National Chairman, has been validated by a Federal High Court which sat in Abuja on Friday.
Also ruling on the suit which was instituted by Dr. Leonard Nzewa, Justice Inyang Ekwo affirmed his (Nzewa) appointment as the Acting National Chairman of the party following the suspension of Sowore and Fabiyi for six months at its meeting held on March 27, 2019 which led to the court showdown.
The court which restrained the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognising the suspended chairman pending the determination of the motion on notice, backed the judgement with Sowore’s failure to personally depose to the counter-affidavit filed against the suit that was brought against him by the acting National Chairman of the AAC.
Reacting to our correspondent’s inquiry, Sowore said in a message on Friday, “We’ve commenced the process of appeal already. The judgment won’t stand.”
