Court Restrains ODIEC From Accepting APC Candidates’ List For LG Election
1 min readThe Ondo State High Court has restrained the state’s Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC) from accepting the list of candidates of the All Progressive Congress (APC) expected to participate in the December 1, 2018 local government elections.
Court documents obtained by SaharaReporters on Monday evening, showed that Messrs Idowu Otetubu and Gani Muhammad Ajowa, who are the plaintiffs, asked the court to halt the action said to be by a purported faction of the APC in the state, led by Ade Adetimehin, its state chairman
They joined Ade Adetimehin, Adesina Ikoto Atila, APC and the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC) as defendants in the suit.
Justice D.I. Kolawole of the Ondo State High Court, however, adjourned till next week Monday on the motion for the notice of the injunction.
