Court Orders Arrest Of Former President Mubarak’s Sons
1 min readOn charges of stock market manipulation, an Egyptian criminal court has ordered the arrest of two sons of Hosni Mubarak, a former President of Egypt.
Alaa and Gamal, sons of Mubarak, alongside seven others have been accused of violating rules on the stock market and the central bank, in the bid to make unlawful profits.
According to Middle East News Agency, although the accused have denied committing any crime, a judicial source said three others, who are former and current members of an Egyptian investment bank, EFG-Hermes, were also arrested.
The case has been on since 2012 and the accused were released on bail, although banned from travelling.
The court’s next hearing is scheduled for October 20.
