Co-defendants Of Abba Kyari Are In Prison For A Cocaine Deal.
1 min readIn a complaint brought by the National Cocaine Law Enforcement Agency against suspended DCP Abba Kyari over an alleged drug trade, an Abuja Federal High Court convicted two co-defendants on Tuesday.
The court condemned the defendants, who are the 6th and 7th defendants, to six years in prison.
The two committed the offence charged against them by the NDLEA in counts 5, 6, and 7, according to Justice Emeka Nwite’s ruling.
When the judge sentenced them to two years in jail on counts 5, 6, and 7, he said it would begin on the day the defendants were arrested by the NDLEA and would run concurrently.
Chibunna Umeibe and Emeka Ezenwanne, the two defendants, are suspected drug traffickers who were apprehended by Nigerian police at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu and handed over to the NDLEA.
They admitted to the anti-narcotics agency’s counts five, six, and seven.
