Chelsea vs Liverpool: Jurgen Klopp Blames One Player For Chelsea’s Goal
1 min readLiverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp has blamed a mistake by his defenders especially Virgil van Dijk for Chelsea’s goal against the Reds on Saturday.
Cameras caught Klopp seriously talking to the defender after the match as they walked off the pitch.
While the German gaffer commended many of his players and gave goalscorer Daniel Sturridge a big hug, Van Dijk received a lengthy tactical debrief.
The Dutch defender looked somewhat forlorn but acknowledged his manager’s words before heading down the tunnel.
Speaking after the match, Klopp told BT Sport, “I think we made exactly one mistake – and they used it. But that’s football.
“On a very high level, that can happen. It should not, but can. With the quality then of Chelsea in these situations, waiting for it pretty much.
“Playing all the other passes only for one time they are playing this pass.
“So we went into half-time 1-0 down but I said if we play the second half like the first half, minus one mistake, we win.”
