Banditry, Insurgency Coming To An End – Nigerian Govt

The Federal Government has reiterated its commitment to addressing the various forms of insecurity affecting different parts of the country.

This assurance was given by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, while leading a presidential delegation to Yobe State to commiserate with the government and the people of the state over the recent incident in Mafa community.

 

He said the visit was a demonstration of the Federal Government’s resolve to end insecurity and promote peace and stability across the nation.

On behalf of President Tinubu, the Minister expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims of the Mafa attack and the people of Yobe State.

 

The National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, who was also on the entourage assured that the end of terrorism and banditry in Nigeria was getting much closer.

He commended the army and other security organizations for their efforts in checking terrorism in the Northeast and other crimes across the country.

 

“The security agencies have been so wonderful, making a lot of sacrifices to safeguard lives and property in the country.

 

“What we are now seeing is the beginning of the end, it is just a matter of time, the entire country will be secured”, the NSA assured.

Gov. Buni expressed appreciation for the visit, saying, “the government and people of Yobe state have by this visit been given a sense of belonging”.

 

He commended President Tinubu “for providing leadership for the country at a very difficult time”.

 

Similarly, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), led by the National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, was in Damaturu to commiserate with the government and the people.

Ganduje said the NWC was in the state to identify with the government and people of the state at this trying moment of callous attack and senseless killing of innocent people.

 

“We are part of the Yobe family, we feel the pain and sorrow suffered by the government and people of Yobe state, and we are here to condole with our brothers and sisters over this very sad incident”, Ganduje said.
