Arsenal have dropped to fifth place on the Premier League log following a 2 – 1 defeat at Anfield.

Wenger made the decision to drop Alexis Sanchez to the bench at the start of the game with the game at Bayern Munich on his mind.

Liverpool started the game brightly, Coutinho testing Cech within the first five minutes. The opening goal came when Mane’s cross from the right was controlled and fired into the net in the ninth minute.

The second goal came from Mane, Firmino finding the Senegalese on the right from a counter-attack from the Reds.

Wenger introduced Sanchez at the start of the second half and his impact was immidiate, assisting Danny Welbeck’s goal.

The Reds killed the game in the 91st minute. Lallana twisting and turning in the center of the pitch, fed Origi on the right who was running from the half-way line. The Belgian fed Wijnaldum who swept past Cech.

The results puts the Red’s third on the table though Arsenal who are fifth have a game in hand and sit just two points behind.
