Armed bandits attack Katsina town, injure residents after peace parley
Armed bandits on Tuesday night attacked Ingawa town in Katsina State, injuring several residents and looting homes, just weeks after a peace parley was held with local government officials and traditional leaders
The attack was contained in a post shared on X on Wednesday by security analyst Bakatsine.
According to Bakatsine, the assailants attacked the town heavily armed and moved from house to house.
Bakatsine said the bandits operated for hours, carting away valuables and causing fear among residents.
Some people were reportedly injured during the attack, while many others fled their homes for safety.
Yesterday night, armed bandits attacked Ingawa town in Katsina State, moving house to house with heavy weapons, looting residents and injuring people. This comes just weeks after a peace parley with the LGA officials and traditional leaders in Kankia LGA.
“What does this attack say about the credibility and enforcement of the peace deal?,” Bakatsine wrote.
As of the time of filing this report, there was no official statement from security agencies or the Katsina State Government on the attack.
