Agencies, Environmentalists Join Forces For Climate-Resilient Healthcare

Government agencies and environmental experts in Nigeria have joined forces to strengthen efforts toward building a climate-resilient healthcare system across the country.

The collaboration focuses on developing strategies that can help the health sector better respond to climate-related risks, including extreme weather events, flooding, and disease outbreaks linked to environmental changes.

Stakeholders said the initiative aims to integrate inclusive early warning systems that will help communities and healthcare providers prepare for and manage health challenges associated with climate change.

Experts noted that climate-related disasters can disrupt healthcare services and increase the spread of diseases, making it essential for health systems to adapt and become more resilient.

Through the partnership, agencies and environmentalists plan to improve data sharing, strengthen community awareness, and develop response strategies that protect vulnerable populations.

Participants in the initiative emphasized that building a climate-resilient healthcare system will play a crucial role in safeguarding public health as climate challenges continue to grow across Nigeria and other parts of the world.
