AFTERMATH OF ELECTION POSTPONEMENT, JONATHAN APPOINTS MIMIKO’S BROTHER AS NEW INEC CHAIRMAN
1 min readThe embattled INEC boss, Prof. Attahiru Jega must have been relieved of his job after all, if information at our disposal is anything to go by.
The incumbent Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Jega we gathered has been asked to proceed on 3 months compulsory leave.
A successor who will be resuming from the 1st day of March, 2015 in person of a relative of the Ondo State governor, Gov. Raman Mimiko has been nominated to get set with immediate effect.
The In-coming INEC chairman is Prof. Nazim Olufemi Mimiko, a professor of Political Science and International Relations and a former VC of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Ondo State.
The embattled Prof. Jega will be officially proceeding on his three months terminal leave with effect from March 1, 2015 in compliance with the civil service procedure.
