Veteran actor, Adebayo Salami popularly known as Oga Bello said he has stopped making babies after having 17 children from his liaisons with several women. The legendary actor revealed this to Societywatchng.com during an exclusive chat recently.
“I’m no longer producing babies,” he said frantically. “What is wrong with me? Out of my 17 children, 15 are graduates, two are undergraduates and I have grand children. What else do I want?”
Oga Bello currently has four children making him proud in the movie world. Femi Adebayo is a top actor in the Yoruba genre of movie, while Tope, his younger brother is a notable movie director. They are two others also doing well in the industry.
The versatile Oga Bello started making babies at the age of 23, eleven years after making his debut in the theatre industry. And come December 10, 2014, he would be celebrating 50 years on stage at the Muson Center, Ikoyi, Lagos.
And despite his children’s success in the movie industry, the iconic thespian warns parents not to force their progeny into any career, but to guide them into their chosen careers and try as much as possible to educate them. “Parents need to look at the areas their children have passion for. They shouldn’t force them to do anything contrary to their dream and passion. And most importantly, they should try to give them adequate education.”
Among his children, Oga Bello has a Lawyer, a Geologist and two Computer Scientists.
