AFCON 2025 Qualifiers: Osimhen Names Greatest Nigerian Striker Ever

Victor Osimhen has named Rashidi Yekini as the greatest Nigerian striker ever.
The 25-year-old was responding to a question about him breaking the all-time goalscoring record.
Osimhen’s goal in the 1-1 draw with Benin Republic in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Thursday, took his tally to 23.

He is now level in second place with the legendary Segun Odegbami.
However, both men are behind Yekini, who scored 37 times in the green and white.
Osimhen will have another chance to move close to breaking the record, when the Super Eagles host Rwanda on Monday.
“If I equal it, I equal it,” Osimhen said about Yekini’s record.
“But that doesn’t take away the fact that Rashidi Yekini is the greatest striker for the Super Eagles.”
