NCF Opens Camp for U-19 Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifiers

The Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) has opened a training camp for the national U-19 women’s team ahead of the 2027 ICC Women’s U-19 World Cup qualifiers.

The camp, which brings together promising young cricketers from across the country, is part of preparations for the qualifying tournament scheduled to hold in Tanzania this September.

According to NCF officials, the training programme is designed to improve players’ technical skills, fitness levels, and tactical awareness as they gear up for international competition. Coaches are expected to assess performance and select the final squad that will represent Nigeria at the qualifiers.

The federation emphasized its commitment to developing grassroots cricket and promoting women’s participation in the sport, noting that the U-19 team remains a key part of its long-term development strategy.

Team officials expressed confidence in the players’ potential, highlighting the progress made in recent years and the growing interest in women’s cricket across the country.

With preparations now underway, stakeholders are optimistic that the team will put up a strong showing and compete effectively against other nations at the qualifiers.
