MFM Suspends Nationwide Vigils Over Rising Insecurity
The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) has suspended all vigils, overnight prayer meetings, and similar late-night programmes across its branches nationwide due to growing security concerns in the country.
The church said the decision was taken as a precautionary measure to safeguard worshippers amid the prevailing insecurity challenges affecting several parts of Nigeria.
According to the ministry, the suspension applies to all programmes that require members to gather or travel during late-night hours, when security risks are often heightened.
Church leaders emphasized that the safety and well-being of members remain a top priority, noting that alternative arrangements would be made to ensure uninterrupted spiritual activities without exposing congregants to unnecessary danger.
The development comes amid increasing concerns over incidents of kidnapping, armed attacks, and other security threats reported across various regions of the country.
Members have been advised to comply with the directive while continuing to participate in approved worship activities and prayer sessions conducted under safe conditions.
The decision has sparked reactions among worshippers, with many expressing understanding of the church’s position and the need to prioritize security in the face of ongoing challenges.
