Makinde, Diri Urge Muslims to Promote Peace, Uphold Ramadan Lessons

Governors Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Douye Diri of Bayelsa State have called on the Muslim Ummah to continue promoting peace, unity and forgiveness as they observe the spiritual lessons of Ramadan.

In separate messages to mark the end of the holy month, both governors urged Muslims to uphold the values of compassion, tolerance and self-discipline learned during Ramadan in their daily lives.

Makinde encouraged the faithful to extend the virtues of love, sacrifice and generosity beyond the fasting period, stressing that the lessons of Ramadan should help strengthen peaceful coexistence and national unity.

Similarly, Diri appealed to Muslims to remain committed to peace and harmony in their communities, noting that the teachings of Ramadan promote forgiveness, mutual respect and social responsibility.

The governors also prayed for continued peace and progress in Nigeria, urging citizens of all faiths to work together toward national development and stability.
