JUST IN: Tinubu Seeks Senate Confirmation Of Oyedele, Abe As Minister, NUPRC Chairman

President Bola Tinubu has asked the Senate to screen and confirm Taiwo Oyedele as Minister of State for Finance and Magnus Abe as Chairman of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).

The request was conveyed in a letter sent to the Senate leadership, seeking legislative approval for the appointments in line with constitutional requirements.

If confirmed, Oyedele will serve as Minister of State for Finance, a role expected to support ongoing fiscal and economic reforms by the federal government.

Magnus Abe, a former senator, has been nominated to head the NUPRC, the regulatory body responsible for overseeing upstream activities in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.

The Senate is expected to begin the screening process for the nominees in the coming days before deciding on their confirmation.

The appointments are part of efforts by the administration to strengthen leadership in key economic and energy institutions.
