JUST IN: Plateau Governor Mutfwang Joins APC

Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The development was announced on Friday by the National Chairman of the APC, Nentawe Yilwatda, via a post on his official social media handle.

According to Yilwatda, the governor’s decision to join the ruling party marks a significant political shift in Plateau State and strengthens the APC’s presence in the North-Central region.

“Governor Caleb Mutfwang has officially joined the All Progressives Congress. We welcome him warmly into the progressive family,” the APC chairman wrote.

Although details surrounding the governor’s defection were not immediately disclosed, political observers believe the move may be linked to ongoing realignments ahead of future electoral contests.

Mutfwang, who was elected governor on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has yet to issue an official statement explaining the reason for his defection as of the time of filing this report.

The development is expected to trigger reactions from the PDP leadership in Plateau State and at the national level.
