Tackle hunger, insecurity before talking about 2027 election – Ohanaeze youth wing tells Tinubu

Youth wing of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Igbo socio-cultural organisation, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to address the hunger, poverty and insecurity ravaging the country before talking about 2027 politics.
According to the organisation, the President’s inability to address the challenges facing the nation may cost him his re-election come 2027.
It made the assertion in a press statement signed by its Youth Leader, Damian Okafor.
In the press statement, the group stated that as a concerned group that means well for the progress of the nation, it found it as an obligation to deliver an imperative message to President Tinubu as regards the current State.
“The All Progressives Congress, APC, is precariously positioned as it approaches the 2027 elections.
“If the Federal Government continues to dismiss the alarming warnings concerning extreme poverty, pervasive hardships, and escalating insecurity, the consequences will be dire.
Mr President, it is critical to acknowledge that Nigerians are enduring overwhelming suffering.
“If their grievances remain unaddressed, a revolt against your administration through the ballot box is not merely a possibility; it is an impending reality. The Federal Government must confront the harsh truths surrounding worsening insecurity, relentless hunger, and extreme poverty that have now reached intolerable levels.” the release hinted.
The group maintained that the devastating effects of hunger, insecurity, and poverty had reached a point where the second term bid of President Tinubu could be truncated.
The Ohaneze Youth wing further noted that most of the Governors who Mr president so much rely on for his re-election have lost their people’s trust for offering nothing but false and empty promises.
Okafor was of the view that 2027 general elections will be quite different from previous elections where it will be difficulty for the APC Governors to deliver their States to Mr president.
It, however, asserted that President Tinubu has a unique opportunity to redeem his administration before it is too late.
