Bandits abduct six people in Kaduna community

Six people from Hayin Gizo, a quiet suburb of Garun Kurama in Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State, were in the early hours of Sunday abducted by kidnappers.
A source told SOCIETY WATCH that the kidnappers stormed the community around 1:30 a.m. with dangerous weapons in a terrifying operation that lasted until 3:00 a.m.
According to him, “the kidnappers took six able-bodied men and one woman. The woman was later released along the way due to her frail health condition.”
He explained that among those kidnapped were two Igbos who are traders in the community.
He appealed to security agencies and well-meaning individuals to intervene swiftly to secure the safe return of the captives.
He described the victims as peasant farmers living from hand-to-mouth, urging the kidnappers to show mercy, as their families cannot afford ransom payments.
SOCIETY WATCH reports that Lere, alongside Kauru, Kachia, Zango Kataf, and Jema’a Local Government Areas, has faced a surge in kidnappings and attacks by unknown gunmen in recent months.
