It gathered thst the incident occurred on Sunday night.
SOCIETY WATCHING learnt the gunmen targeted homes on the outskirts of the town, which include the Talba Estate, Rafin Karma, Dadin Kowa, Gangaren-Sagi, and Kontagora bypass areas.
Eyewitness accounts from the affected areas disclosed that a man managed to escape abduction, but his wife was whisked away by the bandits.
“It’s a sad situation,” the source said. “The bandits just came and took them away. We don’t know where they are being taken.”
Confirming the incident, the Niger State Police Command through the Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun said, “On 17/3/2025 at about 1230hrs, it was reported at A Division Kontagora that on same date at about 0100hrs, some suspected kidnappers entered a residence at Bayawn Bayawn area of Kgora abducted two persons.”
The victims were identified as Fatima Muhammad and Aminu Maiguga.
According to him, “Police operatives and vigilante members have mobilised in an effort to trail and rescue the victims.”
