I’m Not Prepared To Bring Down The Size Of My Cabinet – President Tinubu
1 min readPresident Bola Ahmed Tinubu has clarified that he is not prepared to bring down the size of his government stating that all his appointees have their job descriptions.
Responding to question on the size of his government which many Nigerians have said to be large considering the country’s poor economic indices, the President said he would rather talk about the efficiency of his appointees.
He explained that they were all appointed because he saw a need for them. “Let’s talk about efficiency. They are all adding value.”

On the controversial tax reform, the President said the reform is here to stay.
“We can’t continue to do what we were doing. We can’t retool this economy with the old method. It is about what Nigeria needs.
“A new dawn is here. I am convinced and you should help to propagate that conviction.
On the high rate of dollar in comparison to Naira, the President said, I don’t spend in dollar.
“The target of this administration is based on what we earn in dollar compared to Naira
“Push me to my bragging mood. In the last three months I have not taken a penny from NNPC before I meet my obligations.”
He however said he is prepared to make concession-subject to debates-until an agreement is reached.
