Jonathan’s 2027 Presidential Posters Appear In Kano
2 min readFormer President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign posters for the 2027 presidential election have surfaced in major locations across Kano.
The posters, which were spotted at high-traffic areas such as Gyadi-Gyadi/Zoo Road flyover, Kofar Nasarawa, and State Road, bear messages like “Team New Nigeria 2027; The Goodluck Nigeria Needs—Dr. Goodluck Jonathan.”
This latest development has fueled discussions on the upcoming presidential race, with key political figures like Peter Obi, Atiku Abubakar, and the incumbent president also expected to throw their hats in the ring.

Jonathan’s spokesperson, Okechukwu Eze, has yet to respond to inquiries regarding the posters or any potential candidacy.
However, the emergence of these posters recalls a similar incident before the 2023 elections, where Jonathan’s supporters purchased nomination forms for him under the All Progressives Congress (APC) – a move he later distanced himself from.
The posters appear to be part of a broader effort by the political movement, Team New Nigeria (TNN), which is actively promoting the message of a transformative leadership for the nation. Modibbo Farakwai, the leader of TNN, stated that the group’s activities are driven by a public demand for change, as Nigerians are increasingly calling for new faces and approaches to governance.
“The people of Nigeria are yearning for change, for new leadership that can drive transformation in governance at all levels,” Farakwai explained.
He also revealed that the movement has mobilized over 26 million registered voters and is in the process of registering as a political party with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
TNN has already crafted its manifesto, logo, and flag, setting the stage for a potential political push.
In a statement, Alhaji Tanko Yakasai, a founding member of the Arewa Consultative Forum, said that Jonathan is within his rights to run in 2027.
Yakasai noted, “Jonathan did not complete his second mandate, having lost the election to former President Muhammadu Buhari. This could be another opportunity for him to finish what he started.”
