Nigeria Demolish Argentina 4-2 in Thrilling Friendly Encounter
1 min readThe Super Eagles of Nigeria on Tuesday came back from two goals to defeat Argentina in a friendly match in Russia.
The Eagles went down twice in the first half courtesy of goals from Sergio Aguero and Eva Banega. However, Kelechi struck back to make it 2-1 via a perfect free-kick after Iwobi was fouled just before the end of the first half.
Argentina started the second half on the front foot, pinning the Super Eagles in their own 18-yard-box. The Eagles sought to punish them on the counter and the goal came soon enough.
Nigeria won the ball on the edge of the box, play a quick series of passes before Iheanacho squared for Iwobi who put it in the back of the net to make it 2-2 in the 51st minute.
Three minutes later, Nigeria scored their third goal. Substitute Idowu gets the goal, calmly curling into the corner from Iheanacho’s lay-off.
Alex Iwobi made it 4 less than 20 minutes to the end of the game, passing through Mascherano before finishing into the corner.
Argentina tried to get back in the game but the Eagles defended bravely to make it 4-2 in the end.
