Film Maker, Seun Egbeegbe Remanded In Prison
2 min readSocialite and movie promoter, Seun Egbeegbe has been remanded in prison custody following his appearance earlier today (Friday, February 10) in court on 36 count charge of advance fee fraud and stealing.
The estranged lover of Nollywood star actress Toyin Aimakhu was arraigned in Court 8 at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi (Lagos). And he’s on his way to Ikoyi Prisons along with his accomplice (Ayodele Oyekan).
The serial offender, arrested on Thursday, February 2, at Gbagada General Hospital where he allegedly attempted to swindle two bureau de change operators of N10 million. Alhaji Olanrewaju Oluwaseun Kazeem, 40, was caught as he tried to flee.
Detained first at Ogudu Area Command, the CEO of Ebony Films Production was moved to the Lagos Police Command in Ikeja where he spent the weekend.
The husband of two wives and father of two children has been in police custody until today when he was brought to court in handcuffs.
And with his remand in prison, he has a long and painstaking trial, which may last over one year, on his hands.
He would be lucky to get bail as he has another pending case of theft of nine iPhone handsets valued at N2.4 million now adjourned to Wednesday, April 12. The phones were allegedly stolen at Computer Village in Ikeja on Tuesday, November 22, 2016.
When we spoke to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, she confirmed that the case was filed yesterday (Thursday, February 9), but the suspect appeared in court today with more complainants coming forward to accuse him of fraud.
