45-YEAR-OLD SPINSTER, WEIRD MC DANCES ‘SHOKI’ AT SISTER’S WEDDING

On the list of Nigeria’s most eligible spinsters, no doubt, Nigerian indigenous rapper, Sola Idowu fondly called Weird MC sits comfortably atop. At 44 year-old, she is adjudged the oldest living and reigning Nigerian female hip-hop singer.

At a time in this country when young boys and girls are still striving to acquaint themselves with western music, Sola had moved far ahead her peers as she went ahead to release the hit track, Allen Avenue. After that historical hit, she sojourned abroad in search of greener pasture, but her return was ground breaking as she came back with another banging track entitled Ijoya-a track that could be consider her best ever.

However, despite this great feat, what has become worrisome to her many fans is her single status.
Born on January 1, 1970, the Ijebu –Ogun-State born singer has remained single for unknown reasons. Few days ago, she was spotted at her younger sister; Dupe Idowu’s wedding looking giddy and dancing heartily to the DJ’s vibes.
What was also astounding was the dress code the singer puts on at the glamorous wedding held at Yard 158 Event Centre in Oregun, Lagos. To the sheer disbelief of many onlookers, Weird MC ambled into the event in a casual dress.
At the moment, there are no clues of her getting married soon. Recently, when quizzed about marriage, this has been her response: “I don’t have time for that. It’s not even in my plans,” she said.
