2027: Wike Seeks Support for Tinubu, Urges Unity in Rivers

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has called on political leaders and stakeholders in Rivers State to unite and support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in the 2027 general elections.

Wike made the appeal during a visit to Rivers State, where he met with party leaders, traditional rulers and political associates. He stressed the need for unity and cooperation among political actors in the state, saying internal divisions would weaken their collective influence at the national level.

According to the former Rivers State governor, President Tinubu has demonstrated commitment to national development and deserves the support of all well-meaning Nigerians, including leaders in Rivers State.

“We must put our differences aside and work together for the interest of the state and the country. Unity is key if we want to make meaningful progress,” Wike said.

He urged political stakeholders to focus on development-driven politics rather than personal or factional interests, adding that cohesion within Rivers would enhance its relevance in national affairs.

The visit and remarks have sparked political reactions within the state, given existing divisions among major political blocs. However, Wike maintained that dialogue and reconciliation remain the best path toward stability and progress ahead of the 2027 elections.
