English club Wrexham have congratulated goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo after receiving his first senior invitation to the Nigeria Super Eagles squad for the upcoming Unity Cup tournament.

The 23-year-old shot stopper, who enjoyed an impressive campaign with the Welsh side, was named in Nigeriaโ€™s squad as head coach Eric Chelle continues preparations for the summer competition. Wrexham celebrated the achievement on social media, describing the call-up as a proud moment for both the player and the club.

Okonkwo played a key role in Wrexhamโ€™s successful season, delivering several standout performances and keeping multiple clean sheets as the club secured promotion. His consistency throughout the campaign reportedly caught the attention of the Super Eagles coaching crew.

The former Arsenal academy goalkeeper, who previously represented England at youth level, is now set for a possible senior debut with Nigeria. Fans have welcomed his inclusion, with many hopeful he can strengthen the countryโ€™s goalkeeping department ahead of future international competitions.

Nigeria will use the Unity Cup to assess players and build momentum before upcoming competitive fixtures.
